Scott joined Miyamoto in 2019 from Australia, following a company internship which began his interest in earthquake engineering. He is currently working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer and is studying for a masters in earthquake engineering at the University of Canterbury.

Scott has comprehensive skills in designing steel, concrete and timber structures that comply with Australian and New Zealand building codes. He is experienced in seismic assessment and the strengthening of low to midrise buildings and has specialist knowledge in Finite Element Analysis.

Committed to continuous technical development, Scott is passionate about developing sustainable infrastructure, and preserving historically and culturally significant buildings. Scott’s projects include seismic assessment and concept strengthening for the Centre City Shopping Centre in New Plymouth and seismic assessment and strengthening of the Steel and Tube warehouse in Wellington.
